Why can't they number their games like ever other developer in the history of mankind?

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That's how it works.

Skyrim, Morrowind, etc. are the names of the regions in which the game takes place in the world, so the titles are named after them. Oblivion is named after the realm in between? lol I'm not even sure myself as I have only done side quests.

But yeah, the game rocks, and is absolutely massive.
